| What is Dating? |
'Dating' is
the specific date, time and location of a
Tupperware Party agreed upon by your Hostess
and you.
'Dating' is the process of encouraging customers
to host a Tupperware Party on a specific date
at a specific time. |
 |
| Why is Dating important? |
| Simply put, when you're
out of datings, you're out of business! Dating
gives you the opportunity to meet new people,
which helps you sell more Tupperware brand
products, date future parties and recruit
new Dealers.
|
 |
| Where do I Date? |
There are basically two places you can date
future parties -at your parties where Guests
have had the pleasure of seeing you in action...
and everywhere else!
Generally, people who attend parties are among
the best dating candidates because they:
 |
See firsthand how fun
and informative parties can be. |
 |
See and hear about the benefits of
dating. |
 |
See something they'd like to receive
as a gift for hosting a party. |
However, dating with people outside your friend
and family circle is the key to augment your
business. That's why you'll also want to look
for dating opportunities away from your parties.
Starting 'party chains' with people
outside your immediate circle of friends and
family will help your business grow! |
 |
| Where can I find
Dating Opportunities? |
| Every time you are out shopping, talk to
at least five people about Tupperware. Offer
each person a catalogue, tell them about the
demonstrations you offer, and ask for their
phone number or address for follow up. Present
each person with a small Game Gift as a 'thank
you' for taking the time to listen. Finally,
ask each person for the names of two to three
friends who would also enjoy receiving the
latest catalogue and a free gift (these names
are known as 'referrals'). |
 |
| Who do I Date? |
Ask everyone!
The only way to find out if someone is receptive to the idea of having a party is to ask. It's easy to 'prejudge' people, to decide ahead of time that they are not interested. You may discover that those you were sure would date do not, and those you thought wouldn't, do!
The easiest people to date are the Guests in attendance at your Tupperware Parties. Approach each Guest during table shopping to offer the opportunity to host a party.
|
 |
| How do I Date? |
Follow the six-step dating pattern.
| 1 |
Ask two questions you're
sure will be answered 'yes'. |
| 2 |
Invite the person to have a Tupperware
Party. |
| 3 |
Listen to their response. |
| 4 |
Show understanding -smile and nod
your head to show you understand their
situation. |
| 5 |
Overcome concerns by emphasising benefits.
|
| 6 |
Offer a choice -day of week, date,
time of day. |
| |
|
Example:
"It looks like I still have Friday the
20th completely open. Would that work for
you or would Monday the 23rd better?"
Important:
Always try to set a date within the next two
weeks. This is called 'dating in close'. It
ensures a party is more likely to be successful
because the Hostess stays motivated.
If a potential Hostess seems hesitant to settle
on a specific date (maybe she'd like to check
with friends and family first), set a tentative
date, pencil it in your Date Book, and call
within 24 hours to confirm.
